Google has started testing a new generative AI feature. This time, the company is introducing AI-generated backgrounds on Google Notes, an experimental feature that allows users to add a note to a web page on the Google app. First spotted by TheSpAndroid, the feature is currently limited to select users in the US and India and is likely to expand to more markets in the coming days.
This feature is currently available for both Android and iOS smartphone users via the latest version of the Google app. We were able to test this feature on both Android and iPhone.
One can generate images using simple text prompts (Express Photo)
Google is likely using a Gemini AI-powered image generation tool within the Google app, which can convert a text prompt into images. Google first announced the Notes feature back in late 2023 and allowed users to choose from one of the predefined backgrounds while writing a note on a web page. The latest update allows users to generate an image or choose an image from the phone’s gallery.
As of now, the images generated within the Google app do not have any watermark to indicate their origin, and on top of that, users can also save these images by taking screenshots.
Right now, there is no option to add more than one image to a single note. One can either add an image from the gallery app or they can generate an image within the Google app. Once the note is published, the same will be visible to all Google app users who have access to the experimental notes feature. Google recently updated its app on iOS to include Gemini AI, which gives free access to Google’s latest generative AI model for free on the web, Android, and iOS devices.
